Dogs need a good ear wash either daily or certainly after every bath to ensure their ears stay in tip top condition and are free of dirt, dust, mites, fleas and other unsavoury visitors. Although it’s easy to buy ear washes it’s just as easy to make your own organic version at home using a blend of organic essential oils mixed in a good organic vegetable oil.
Our recommendation of lavender, camomile and tea tree essential oils acts as a deterrent to bugs, contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties as well as soothing and calming properties to reduce irritation and scratching.
Bled 8 drops of organic lavender essential oil with 6 drops of organic Roman camomile essential oil and 4 drops of organic tea tree essential oil and dilute to 5-10% in organic jojoba oil. Jojoba is very nourishing to the skin but also helps to regulate oil secretion.
Apply to your dogs ears either with a cotton wool ball, soft cloth or an ear bud.
Your pooch will not only have squeaky clean ears but he’ll smell rather fetching as well.
